Original Vidatak EZ Patient Picture Communication Board promotes better outcomes for nonspeaking patients in the hospital, ICU, rehab
* FREE Feelings Board included with your order!
Used by caregivers, nurses and social workers in hospitals, rehab and nursing care facilities, this research-based picture symbol-based communication board gives a "voice" to adults and children who need to communicate their healthcare needs without speaking. Supported by clinical research by Lance Patak, MD and the augmentative communication team at Boston Children's Hospital, Vidatak EZ Picture Boards improved patient-provider communication, patient satisfaction, reduced frustration, and enhanced patient outcomes.
This no-tech picture communication board helps nonspeaking adults, seniors and children communicate their healthcare needs and improves their care. Ideal for patients experiencing speech difficulties due to stroke, aphasia, intellectually disabled, are intubated or do not speak English. The Vidatak Picture Communication board pictures are large, 1.5" square, for easy viewing and pointing. The patient simply points to the appropriate symbol (with words in English) or uses a non-toxic marker to mark it. All marks are easily erased with a moist tissue paper. Each board is printed on large 17" x 11" dry erase board with pictures on both sides. Comes individually shrink-wrapped with a dry-erase marker.
Product and clinical info can be viewed at www.vidatak.com An Innovation in Communication The Joint Commission for Accreditation of Healthcare Organization (JCAHO) has improved their patient communication standards of care by requiring hospitals and other caregiving organizations to document each patient/resident’s ability and means to communicate. The Vidatak EZ Board is an inexpensive way to meet the 2006 National Patient Safety Goals.
Special orders may be subject to a re-stocking fee.
Customer Reviews:
"My husband wanted to talk but the tracheotomy was making it difficult, so only sounds came out. When the EZ Board arrived, you have no idea how it made me feel. My heart was happy and tears of joy came, knowing that you cared enough to help my husband communicate with all of us." —Wife of a patient
"For my dad after a stroke. He still hasn’t rained on his beach so this helps a lot because he was so frustrated that no one could understand him and I purchase this for him so that he could better communicate with the staff at the hospital and the rehabilitation center. And it has been a lifesaver. I did put in magic marker but this does not belong to the hospital it belongs to our family so that when they transferred him it went with him." - Family Member
